MENTAL HEALTH PROMOTION IN THE UNIVERSITY CONTEXT
THE EXPERIENCE OF THE VALORIZE A VIDA PROJECT

In recent decades, the mental health of university students has become a central theme in scientific and institutional debate, given the increase in indicators of psychological distress, stress, and emotional illness in this population. In line with this scenario, this article presents, in the form of a scientific interview, the "Value Life" extension project, developed at the FACOL University Center – UNIFACOL, as an initiative to promote mental health, primary prevention, and strengthen well-being in the academic environment. The program's actions include discussion groups, workshops, experiential practices, educational activities, and artistic interventions, articulated with the Psychological and Psychopedagogical Support Center, focusing on creating safe spaces for welcoming and emotional expression. The reported experience highlights positive impacts, such as the strengthening of interpersonal bonds, increased demand for psychological support, increased student self-confidence, and the consolidation of an institutional culture of care. The "Value Life" program is a relevant outreach activity, integrating education, mental health, and community participation, reaffirming the university's role in promoting holistic human development and valuing life.
